Future Makers collaborated with MJ’s Event Services Ltd to create the awards for the 2026 UK Sustainable Flooring Alliance (UKSFA) Awards, where MJ’s was named winner of the Collaborative Sustainability Project of the Year.
Future Makers made awards for the 2026 UK Sustainable Flooring Alliance Awards
The award recognised MJ’s work exploring new applications for post-event flooring, bringing together expertise in flooring, polymer processing and product design to investigate the potential for material reuse.
The commission builds on an ongoing collaboration between MJ’s and Future Makers, which previously saw the development of the Rewind® Edition Chair from polypropylene event carpet. The chair went on to win the Worshipful Company of Horners’ David Williams Award in 2025.
From developing products using post-event carpet to manufacturing the awards themselves, the collaboration demonstrates how material innovation and creative manufacturing can bring new possibilities to existing materials.
