Stone Soup Academy Sustainability Award Created by Future Makers
From Concept to Completion
Future Makers Product Design Intern Toby Maurice designed and led a bespoke Environmental Sustainability Award for Stone Soup Academy, his first solo project with the studio.
Inspired by awards Future Makers created for Best Bar None and DHP Family, Toby developed the design with Stone Soup Academy and fabricated it with support from the workshop team.
Winner of the Stone Soup Environmental Sustainability Award 2025, held at Broadway Cinema.
Inspiration and first solo project
Toby led his first solo project at Future Makers, taking the award from initial sketches through to final delivery.
Inspired by awards Future Makers created for Best Bar None and DHP Family, he developed the design around Stone Soup Academy’s logo, working with the school and workshop technician Janis before moving into fabrication.
Developing the Award
MJ’s Event Services supplied post-event Rewind® carpet as a circular material for the award. The purple carpet happened to match Stone Soup Academy’s logo, giving the design a strong connection to the school.
Toby developed the award with Stone Soup Academy and the Future Makers workshop team, working through the practical challenges of fabrication and sourcing the precision-made plaque to a high standard and tight deadline.

The Finished Award
With all components ready, Toby worked with Janis to complete the assembly. The finished award features the Stone Soup Academy logo and space for six names, with an anodised aluminium plaque that can be recycled.
