From Festival Wristbands to Recycled Plastic Sheet Material
DHP Family approached Future Makers with surplus festival wristbands and a challenge: how could they be transformed into something meaningful?
We shredded and thermoformed the wristbands into recycled plastic sheet material, developing a bespoke award that gives the material a new purpose while creating a lasting connection to DHP Family’s events.
Developing the Award
The surplus wristbands were shredded and thermoformed into recycled plastic sheet material. Future Makers tested different finishes and textures before developing a deep purple finish that captured the character of the original material.
The finished sheet was then developed into a series of bespoke recycled plastic awards, creating a lasting connection between DHP Family’s events and their commitment to more circular design.
Circular Design for Brands
For DHP Family, surplus festival wristbands became bespoke awards that connect their events, brand and approach to sustainability.
Future Makers works with businesses to develop practical ways to rework surplus plastic into useful, distinctive products and materials.
